This was "behind" the lookout tower, behind the lads in the picutre above this one - it was so green and pretty, I had to take a picture (and shockingly, I only took one!)

This is what we were looking out over from the tower.

While hiking through the park, Leif found a root sticking out of the ground that was "the right size for me!" to use as a bench.  And so, of course, he did.  I couldn't choose between the pics - this cheesy grin one, or...

...this much sweeter, although slightly out of focus one.  A note on his shorts:  He had them rolled up at the waist, so they ended up looking a bit daisy-dukish, which made me laugh.  His shirt was also on backwards, but by the time this picture was taken, that had been corrected.  Such is life when you have a toddler who insists on dressing himself! (I ain't complainin'!)

  1. Lol, the first thing I noticed about this post was his shorts! I have a pic of Sean, about that age, with silly shorts like that and I wondered if he was going to be upset with me for allowing him to wear such a thing when he's a teenager.

  2. Leif looked like he was a big help. Cheesy pics of Leif and the rooted-bench are silly. His hair in the second picture reminds me of my dreaded "bowl" cut. Can't believe I am posting a comment of such a painful memory. Ha-Ha.

  3. 2: My defense is that he dressed himself and rolled the waistline himself - when I tried to fix it, he ran away. He rolls the waistline quite often. I'm not sure if it is from how he puts them on, or if he does it on purpose. Either way, it's completely sils.

L: LOL - I didn't notice the "bowl" look of his hair until you mentioned it, and now it is making me laugh every time i see it (in the pictures). Normally his hair is kinda swept to the side, so it doesn't look quite so bowly. I'll bet you rocked your bowl cut! :)
