Leif builds his first "pink tower!"
We began homeschooling yesterday.
Yesterday, I introduced him to knobbed cylinders (not shown) and today I introduced him to the Pink Tower. It's pretty cool what can be learned from these innocuous little blocks. Actually, they're not little, either, as you can see.
Here he is again. He looks so old in this picture. Waah.
Here, he's working on his continents puzzle. Before we started, we went through what continents are, the names of the continents, etc. Then I demonstrated, then he did the puzzle. He loves puzzles, so he did this quickly.
With the finished continents puzzle.
This picture is out of order, but he's just putting the finishing touches on the pink tower.
So far (it's only Day 2) he is really taking to the Montessori materials.
We only do a little bit per day so he doesn't become bored with it.
I need to keep his interest in it!
Anyway, that's Day 2 of Leify's School!
Off to the Dr. to get my ear sutured!
Happy days!
The second to last picture is my favorite! He's so adorable. It looks like he's really taking to the materials...wish I could say the same but I need to make sure I only introduce new materials to one child while the other is gone or sleeping!
ReplyDeleteThe map looks really nice. Is innocuous really the right word? Haps.
Innocuous: 3.not interesting, stimulating, or significant; pallid; insipid: an innocuous novel.
ReplyDeleteThat works, right?
I think you're right on the one chil' at a time thing. I think once they get the hang of working independently, they'll be fine. But to start with, I think they need one on one time with Momma and their concentration.
I only got to see the first part of your video, because Leif came in, and I didn't want him watching it "go downhill" so I had to turn it off. :)
We'll be doing some Montessori with DaMomma today! :)
